So I have been a bit lazy getting it together to write a post about a small national holiday here in the states. For those in the UK I am talking independence day, not the film, but the day Georgy Porgy (George III) lost UK sovereignty over this small postage stamp of a place !
We spent the day with my uncle’s family and friends that celebrate every year at their house. It’s nice as there are lots of young un’s there who this year took great delight in interacting with Harry. It is amazing to see how the family is getting larger by the year with the addition of Cousin Ben’s new family adding to the family fun.
There were a smattering of Brits there to make me feel not too threatened, one even mentioned how he likes to tell people here that we celebrate Independence day in Britain but treat it like thanksgiving, kinda funny especially as he said that many don’t get the joke.
Anyway Cousin Emily and husband Pablo came up from DC which was nice and the weather held off in the afternoon although it rained in the evening to dampen all the fireworks, by then though we were partied out and Harry took a well earned nap in the car on the journey home.
Bob and Linda as always were great hosts and we had a very pleasent day playing games and catching up with people. Until next year !
